Well I finally got some time this weekend and started removing some stuff from the ford and worked a bit on the cummins.

I attached some pics of one the necessary fixes, this one is the KDP (Killer Dowel Pin) and this little thing will come off and get stuck on the gear case and crack it if not prevented. On this engine, after 200k miles it has not even move a bit but better safe than sorry. I will drill the hole for the tachometer in the future so I can close the gear case and get started with the next step.

I will miss that tranny and I hope I don't regret keeping the getrag but the difference $$$ for using the zf was big in this case so I had to go that route and maybe I'll keep this other tranny from leaking to dead.

I made some progress today since I came back early from work so here are a few pics of the IDI out and the engine bay a bit cleaner to make it ready for the new engine. Here are some pics.

Thank You, I have a hole lot of work ahead on this conversion. I put the air filter after I cleaned and washed the engine bay, I don't want it to get dirty and it won't rain under the hood so that is where it will stay until I sell the engine. Besides I don't want it to be up all night, it's been under the hood for so long that I try to keep the filter and the engine a little close until they get use to a new home.
