I've been reading over the upgrade procedure, at least what I can piece together. I found a link to a page that no longer exists under the brian/gpretro.html or something of the sort. Does anyone know where this went? I've looked around for a tutorial with pictures (I'm stupid), but haven't found anything.

I picked up the 7.3 controller, a 6.0 GP harness (which I was told would fit), as well as 10 gauge wire, ring connectors, etc. I feel like I might be missing something.

So far, the best links I have come up with are these:

Can anyone suggest other posts that might be beneficial. I want to be able to use the key/wts as intended, while also adding a bypass "just in case". I had found a post, at one point, but apparently failed to bookmark it. Has anyone done this?

I can't help with the 6.9 to 7.3 change but there are a ton of schematics available on-line and here. There really isn't much to the controller - besides the big wires on the solenoid you have ground, wts line (I think white) and ignition.

For a real upgrade... see the link in my signature for the White Rogers relay. It is worth every penny. If you are building your own harness you might as well do it too.

As an alternative to the 6.0 harness: I just rebuilt my GP harness - go buy fusible link wire in any auto store, the bullet connectors that crimp on, and a good crimper. The fusible link wire has a higher temperature insulation that you want; other than that it is the same as primary wire.

Google for "GP harness build" and there are lots of info for wire sizes. If i remember correctly, from the controller relay I used two 10Ga, one to each bank, crimped to 12Ga that went to each GP. Dress it up and loom and it looks and works awesome.

I've been working 12 hour days; online, I have gone gray-man. I have cleaned up the horrible wiring under the hood (for the most part). I swapped in a 7.3 GPR which seems to be ok, with the exception of a single issue.

I have no WTS! I connected the WTS line coming out of the bottom of the controller to the black w/ pink stripped wire. Am I missing something?
