But as far as factory N/A stuff, 6.9 or 7.3 is all the same balance and bolt holes, etc. What transmission do you have?

The bolt holes are the same, but balance is different. Took a few good size holes to match the 7.3 flywheel to the same 6.9 imbalance. Luk use to have a seperate part number just for the one year the 6.9 had a zf, but there are many accounts of using a 7.3 flywheel on a 6.9.

That is my concern I hear it both ways. Most people run the 7.3 na stuff on 6.9s with no problems, but there are/were different part numbers. Thank you all for the info. The motor is being rebuilt currently I think I'll get the standard LUK conversion kit and give it to my machinist then he can check balance on everything before it gets assembled. I will report my findings

If its apart ask apart balancing the engine, well worth it.

Very few factory engines are perfectly balanced. But still hold up and run quite well in the field.
