I have a 1987 ford f250 6.9l diesel. When the truck has been sitting it starts then stalls then is hard to start again. I changed the fuel filter and I cant find any fuel leaks anywhere. Could somthing elss cause this or do I have to keep looking for fuel leaks? Thanks.

Air gets in in places where fuel may not leak out. So just because you don't see any leaking fuel doesn't mean air is not getting in. The symptoms you describe are classical air intrusion. Do a search for "air intrusion"

Return lines are notorious for leaking and for air intrusion .... So are the fittings for fuel into the filter head and from the filter head to the IP. Is it an immediate shut down or is it when its up to operating temp?

Its an immediate shutdown. I can keep it running if I hold the pedal down but its still rough.
Also when I changed my fuel filter it stopped doing it for a day then started doing it again.
