Hey everyone, especially Canadians; I am very very curious about who/how many would be interested in a rally here in Canada?

I am considering some options,

1st Local to me.... I am about 1/2 hour from US border Oroville WA 98844.

About 3.5-4.5 hours from the coast Vancouver BC or which is where BD diesel is for a dyno run...

We have some incredible scenery here and tons of wineries lakes and so forth for a nice run, there is actually a huge LOOP we could do!

There are nice areas locally to camp!

Suggestions? Questions....lets think through a Canadian rally for 2013...

why cant they cross?
The more important question...is will any US guys come up? Who cares why one cannot cross a border...does it matter? NOPE...could be a DUI or an old conviction of drugs as a teen who the frig knows...who cares....(probably has to do with US laws and Border crossing and militant mentality of said Gov't)....lets not dwell on what people cannot do and work on what we can do to make a cool Canadian rally if anyone is interested!

Easy just asked why just because i dont know why and I guess I could care less but if that many people have a record I would say that the rally would not happen there. Ya I would come up and Im guessing I can cross as due to not having any record and having a passport.

Depending on when, we might be able to make it up from OR, a state below WA.

Summer '13?

there's only a few canadians on this side of the country....that I am aware of for IDI oilburners...and for all intents and purposes a small rally here would do well for everyone getting to know one another..parts swap....etc...easier to deal with I figure...etc...

A passport is needed to cross. If you have a DUI there is no way Canada will allow a crossing. About 10 years ago the wifey and I were crossing at Regway in no eastern Montana. Had been driving horses for 30 hours straight. When they checked the wifeys drivers licence and passport they got a "hit"... Well we didn't know what that means so they searched the truck, trailer and the tack room. Even ran their hands between the seat and the seat backs looking for **** that gets lost in that neither area. We don't smoke or do anything but they sure were looking for anything. Every drug in the box for the horses had to be explained and why do you carry this. That lady was the ****** of the year. Finally after more than an hour talking to us seperatly they said we could go but why did my wife just get fingerprinted a few months ago..... Now I'm mad as hell. She got a job in a school district and they do that when they run a background check on every person applying for a job. They kept after me to tell them that she had a dui but hell no. Aw come on... You can tell us. That lady was the stupidist person I have ever had a runing with. They finally let us go and not one word of "I'm sorry" either....

lol thats why I hate cops and don't like traveling near a boarder or crossing it. I have enough trouble out of cops that live around me. I got stopped for no licence plate light and was told not to worry about it and that I dont need to fix it harassment at its best I HATE cops with a passion. I have met only a few exceptions and thats all.

LOL was that coming from Canada to US or from US to Canada...it's usually easy to get INTO Canada...but not INTO the US...

There in lies the issue...it would seem more than one person has had his run in with the border...but eh...all good..

So aside from the issues of crossing, lets focus more on the actual partaking and construction of a rally...Mel or anyone else who's been involved got any good ideas, suggestions or any tips?

I think a great day of round trip loop run throughout the valley...amazing scenery...vineyards / wineries and so forth...beaches...etc...maybe some tubing down the river??? nice gentle float with beverages of choice..;)

lots of Geocaching and fishing locally too...

Of course we could always figure out a way to do some water skiing or jet ski etc...quads...lots to do for a fun weekend...or even a quick run down to coast to abbotsford and hit BD for a dyno run if anyone was interested...would have to pre arrange that with them..if enough interest, I would certainly get on that right away.

What about turning the get together Towcat holds into a big western rally, but maybe a lil farther noth than Norther California. Maybe Oregon to make it in the middle for everyone. I mean that would be a long way from San Diego. Oregon would be a lot more feasible for me at least. Idk just a thought...
