Looks
The open tensioner is just a crap design that doesn’t give enough tensioner to keep the belt from slipping, I finally fixed my squeak by replacing my engine with a 94 idit that has the improved tensioner. No more squeaking or blowing belts.

I especially like the cable tie keeping the belt in contact with the alternator pulley :D

On mine (closed tensioner) I fixed the squeak with a new 6K1105 (110.5 inch belt, half an inch longer than stock). The old 110 inch had stretched to the point where the tensioner ran out of range. But I would not have been able to get a new 110 on - as it is, I had to temporarily dismount the alternator to get it over the pulley.

Yeah zip tie was there to hold the belt on until I put the ac comp on when it got in the truck, it’s a pretty simple swap, just need everything off the front of a 94 engine, make sure it’s a closed tensioner and not the open tensioner which you can see the spring on. Some late 93 trucks had the closed tensioner design, and all 94s had them.
