TWP-did you try the water trick?

Mike- did you check to see if the belt is moving funny or riding funny on any of the pulleys? A optically minor shift sideways could cause a squeak as well.

If your sure the problem is that the belt is stretching in and then becoming loose the only real solution is to find a tensioner that prevents the stretch from causing the problem, no matter how many you have to try, I'm hoping for your sakes that there is a simpler solution

Well I think I’ve got it fixed. (Now that I say this it will probably squeak tomorrow morning)

Changed tensioner and idler pulley to the nos steel pulleys instead of the plastic replacement ones that come with the tensioner assembly, just pulled them off a spare engine I had. Combined with a pricey gates racing line belt and no more squeaks for the last 10k miles

I have the gates belt too, love them. But something is stretching it, I also have the steel tensioner but maybe it or idle needs ro be replaced. Thanks for the feedback man!

Gates belt eventually stretched out for me. I did some research and the amount they are stretching is normal, but the clamping force the open style tensioner is just not sufficient. I ended up pressing the bearing from our stock tensioner pulley into a custom oversized pulley and eliminated the issue that way. I just have a $7 eBay belt on it now and haven’t heard a squeak since.

I sent a second pulley to another member for testing but haven’t hear anything back from him. If you want I can send you a pulley to try out.

Do you think that a slightly shorter belt would have the same effect? Or is the bigger pulley doing something else than just making it tighter?

Oh I see. I guess your belt was slipping on the tensioner pulley then, and I see how the bigger pulley would help. I'm pretty sure mine is slipping on the vacuum pump pulley. I sprayed belt dressing on the belt while the motor was running and I could visibly see the pulley slip as the squealing got louder. I think it might have started after I changed the vacuum pump oil. I used synthetic straight 30 weight compressor oil by AmsOil. I wonder if it's too thick or if I put to much and it's making the pulley load more?

The open tensioner is just a crap design that doesn’t give enough tensioner to keep the belt from slipping, I finally fixed my squeak by replacing my engine with a 94 idit that has the improved tensioner. No more squeaking or blowing belts.
