Weird problem
On my toy rig my 94 powerstroke !! Ok guys I experienced a wierd problem. /Tonight while driving home I was driving a little agressive jamming to the music not really paying attention to the tach.Well stopped at a light went to take off again I had no power only reved in gear to like 1000...- promustangman

My new to me 94 f350 powerstroke diesel

re yeah i think we are just gonna pull our 84 apart do the heads and freeze plug deal . Do i need to replace the head bolts i have heard 2 stories yes and no !! lol most of my parts i will be getting at autozone or kragen thanks Also do i want the felpro gaskets or the...- promustangman

Block freeze plug write up
Just found this tool here in two Places .. Coolant is Black as OIL.
I had the same problem mine seemed to be the oil cooler I went and got new o rings from ford and new gaskets from Kragen and cleaned it up and put it back together and that problem was solved . If you look someone has the part numbers even posted for these from ford . I cant remember where...- promustangman

We are debating to pull the motor and do all the plugs . It wont be for a few weekends. we used those copper napa ones about 6 months ago and you see where I am at back to doing it again !! plus it gives me a reason to find that oil leak !! LOL!!! Kinda looks like the rear main judging...- promustangman

Well I was a little slow getting back to the guy and he sold it .. Bummer anyways looks like I gotta pull that oil cooler off and replace that freeze plug behind it clean everything out and see what happens..- promustangman

I am mainly worried about the ring gear since the 6.9 is auto and the "7.3" is a manual Reading through the tech section I see there are different ones for these engines. I am hoping its actually a 6.9 and that everything will just bolt together . Otherwise I will have to find a ring gear...- promustangman

6.9-7.3 Swap He already sold the trans. I can get the motor Cheap . Less that what it will cost me in Gaskets . I would rather swap it then rebuild it at this time . I need to get the truck back on the road. He says its a 7.3 I didnt ask if he had swapped it out in his, Thanks- promustangman

Ok guys I need some help again My 84 extra cab 6.9 with c6 auto is now popping freeze plugs we believe its a bad head gasket rebuilt the oil cooler and put several hundred miles on it before this happened now I know the previous owner ran it hot . Any ways I found a 7.3 out of an 87...- promustangman

Well it wasnt too hard to get off but getting back on looks like real fun!!! I unbolted it and pulled the front header off and pulled it backwards up over that crossmember. Lots Of Sludge !!! YUCKKOOOSSSS!!!! I will be wiping oil up for years LOL!!!- promustangman

I thought i was gonna have to unbolt the push bar, well anyways I Got the oil cooler off And it appears to be a newer one it only has 2 o rings per end , I understand the older ones had 3 per end ??
