u got me thinking...next trip i take to the pick n pull ima see if that IDI is still there and nab me an oil cooler.

A few weeks ago there were like 5 in the one near me . but i wasnt even thinking about a diesel then.

Might be tough getting one off in the yard. You have to lift the engine a couple inches to get them out. Probably the hardest part of the whole deal.

oil cooler

Well I finally got the truck towed to my little shop it barely fits in. I thought i was gonna have to unbolt the push bar, well anyways I Got the oil cooler off And it appears to be a newer one it only has 2 o rings per end , I understand the older ones had 3 per end ?? Is that correct??

Aren't the oil cooler o-rings a royal beeyatch? Something like lifting the front of the engine to get access or something?

Well it wasnt too hard to get off but getting back on looks like real fun!!!

I unbolted it and pulled the front header off and pulled it backwards up over that crossmember.
Lots Of Sludge !!! YUCKKOOOSSSS!!!!
I will be wiping oil up for years !!!
