That guy deserves a lotta credit for the amount of fabrication that had to go along with that truck. I couldnt even imagine taking a 70s cab and welding in a super duty firewall and floor to accomodate the newer interior and making it all look correct. I applaud his effort and ingenuity
I need to get my 93 7.3 idit timed since I just rebuilt the engine and I suspect the timing is a bit retarded. However, none of the local diesel shops near me have a clue of what Im talking about. Im in the NJ area and am not afraid to drive or pay to geet it done right. Also, if any place has a...
According to the shop manual thread sealant is to be used on the top two and bottom two bolts of the water pump. As for brands I got a new GMB unit from advance and so far so good.
i just completed a swap on my truck, and was going to scrap the old longblock but I figured id see if there was any interest for the parts. The block was a 93 turbo block that was removed due to excessive oil consumption, possible due to leaking valve seals. the engine ran fine otherwise. All...
I need a new starter for my 1993 f350 7.3 idi turbo 5speed. I currently have the long direct drive starter. Are the direct drive ones better than the offset ones I see for sale or not? Also, will a starter off a powerstroke fit my truck? What starters do you guys recommend? Thanks for the help.
believe what you want but ive removed many fans with an air hammer and not one problem. Its unbelievable how hard the metal is that makes up those bearings and an air hammer wont harm it.
Well ill be pulling the complete setup come monday (yards are closed today) and will give it a thorough cleaning and inspection then it will be up for grabs! PM me if you wanna throw me offers
I found a nice complete banks sidewinder kit in a yard by me. Since my truck is factory turbo i dont need the setup, but i would be willing to pull the complete setup if I can turn a little bit of profit. It seems to be complete with the following:
-turbo
-intake, including filter, filter...
as far as i know, carbon seals are designed for applications where the seal is under both pressure and vacuum. thats why they are used in carbureted gas applications because when the carb is mounted before the turbo (also called a draw through setup and is really the only way to have a carb...
well i cleaned off the timing marks and the pump mark is almost a 1/4 inch to the drivers side of the mark on the block, so i really think i need to bump up my timing. I want to try just lining up the marks, but i cant seem to get at the bottom bolt. do you guys have a trick to getting that...
I dont know if the injectors were ever replaced or the pump. The pump seems to have this pink stuff on some of the adjustment screws almost as a tamper evident device, so maybe it was messed with. Is there a way to tell? Also, i dont know much about how to correctly time these trucks, what tools...
That makes me feel good about paying 5k for my truck, especially since although the truck advertised has the nicer fold down console seat and is 1 year newer, mine has half the mileage and is a 5 speed. And only 65 trucks were optioned the way mine was.
My truck seems to be developing a timing/ip/injector problem. If I let the truck sit overnight and its a cold morning out, it will start up first crank and idle smooth with very little smoke. However, if its a warm morning or its been less than a few hours since it was shut off, it will pour...
Ive been noticing a pattern developing with my 93 F350 7.3 IDI turbo. If I start the truck up first thing in the morning and it is cold enough to turn on the cold advance on the IP, it will start up and idle perfectly with no smoke. However, as soon as it kicks off, it will start to miss and...
