    sad day

    My burb is a 99 with a 350 gasser. Everyone convinsed me that since I tow instead of using the bed this was a good move.....I like the ride, but when I pulled our mower (a 60" dixie chopper) onto the trailer and could see the rear end drop about 3" I started to question my judgement. Now...

    sad day

    Bitter sweet week. I bought a suburban and sold my IDI. I was glad to be rid of the cab cancer for a day or two, but miss the smell of diesel fuel in the drive now. Still have a Powerstroke, but just not the same. Anyhow, thanks for all the help and advice along the way, I may be back if I...

    Fair price when buying ac system?

    A new ac add on system is about $900. Do not forget to grab the black airbox under the hood at the firewall.

    OverDrive Off light flashing

    Mine did that last year anytime it rained. e tach sensor was cheap and took about 5 min to change. I also changed the TPS and adjusted it and it has not done it since. My hard shifts are over now and the truck drives completely differently. My 2c is that you need a tps. I think it is...

    class c tires

    I have had 3 f350s now and have always run d or e tires. I called Toyo to see if I should go ahead and run them and they said to get them off asap as they are way too light to handle tis truck even empty. Even though there is a C number on the sidewall, these are P rated tires. According to...

    class c tires

    Thanks all! My opinion too, but wasn't sure if I was overreacting. Tire shop owner is a friend, I wonder if he even realized that the wrong tires came in. Hell of it is it took me probably six months to notice

    class c tires

    I had new tires put on this summer. they are toyo open country 265/75s. they looked a little low so I started to air them up today and noticed that they are only load class C tires. (2601lb max @35psi max) I am thinking with a 7500 pound truck that doesn't leave much wiggle room for a load...

    where to get bigger exhaust

    No pics right now, but i put 3" on mine this summer. I had my mechanic bend the tailpipe for me and he just put an angle on it an turned it until it cleard everything. It looks like there is room to do the same w/ 4" and there is less restriction from bends.

    Steering issue

    Yup, I mean the Mt. Carmel Smyth. I talked to "Tony " there a couple weeks ago, but have not been back to check things out. He said they had a Taurus kit coming in that week that cross referenced, but it didn't say anything about bearings........Again, I have been so buisy I haven't made the...

    Steering issue

    any luck yet???:dunno I am still driving mine w/ the dash tore apart while I look for parts. My wife works for a parts co. and they say they can't get the bearings. Cross reference says that the column is the same as a Taurus, but it doesn't say that the bearings are included...

    Steering issue

    local yard didn't have an auto column, but they do have a full 94 factory turbo-Drool won't seperate the turbo from the motor and I can't afford to spend $2k on a 200k mile motor right now. anyway, have you guys found the parts for this fix yet?

    Steering issue

    Interesting you posted this. My truck just started doing the same thing. I took the dash apart in the drive this evening and pulled the steering wheel off to check it all out. The whole bearing replacement deal looks pretty simple, but anyone know how to press the spring back in place when...

    4x4

    From what I understand the 250 or 350 changeover is pretty easy once you get the parts. Agmen...will the f150 springs actually hold the front end up on these truxks?

    Dome Light

    I have that problem also. I checked it out the same way you did, but i discovered that the problem was actually the harnes plug. I haven't tryd fixin yet, but I think changing the plug out for crimp on fittings may be the answer:dunno Does your truck have 4 door swithches? mine only has...

    Side mounted turbo?

    I wouldn't try to weld the cast. I remember someone here a few years ago made their own headers by having flanges cut to match their gaskets. Then they miged pipes on to make the exhaust. If you used the same method youcould put everything together on one side easily and pretty cheap. I...

    Side mounted turbo?

    So what about heat buildup at the collector side of these setups? Does funnelling everything together at the manifold make that side hotter than the other? If not, mounting a turbo that way could be done pretty easily.
