Great update. My bronco with the 6.9 got just over 19mpg highway pulling a 16' foot boat. Unfortunately the bronco was wrecked so I can't do more testes until I get the new one up and going.
Looks good. I have been meaning to get an auxiliary oil cooler for mine. It's good to see that you are impressed with the improvements. Why the remote oil filter? I always wondered if anyone ever removed the stock oil cooler and tried to prevent the coolant temperature from interfering with oil...
It's good to see the finished product. A lot of people say the idi is doggy and they switch to the cummins. My next truck will be a cummins :D. But as always, I say run more fuel and install a whipple 2.3 supercharger on there. That is my answer to everything. Or else sell the project and start...
I'm going to dyno test it stock with headers and torque cam I have decided. It's still taking time to get my pulley worked on. I assembled the front end and got the front shocks mounted up. I need 10" shocks for the rear so I sold the 12" travel ones I had. I also got the rear shackle reversal...
Keep us informed of the improvement if you get the moose upgrades on board. Those of us still saving up for Mel's stuff would be happy to see the rewards, especially out doing some pulling.
I had the same problem this weekend, turns out someone installed a soft bolt in the shackle at one time. I had fun smashing it into a mushroom before finally cutting it out. Same here for the hot cold method. Good luck.
Not a hijack at all. This thread might as well do something while in neutral. Sorry to here of of the injury, that and the added pain of your project not going anywhere I know is hard to handle. I'm too busy normally to be on here much, so if you have that build on here throw me a link and...
I wish someone would do it and see how it works, I would like to be the first :sly. Seems I keep getting stalled though. My brother broke two ribs the other day, and that came after having his cheek bone crushed by a hammer drill. I hope he gets better because I know how much he wants to finish...
You are right. And if you use poly bushings it would be more stable and prevent sway like most radius arm setups. You could even utilize some track bars at a salvage yard that can be cut and run inside the DOM tubing radius arm, that would be cheap and very heavy. Even with a short wheelbase my...
Thanks for the reply. Yeah I know, I decided to side mount the supercharger and not worry about adapting it to the intake but changed my mind. To do it right always takes more time. Then again I didn't think my daily driver would fall apart either. This is the second time I've had to put my...
Quick question. I have the allen screw on my pump just about maxed out in prep for forced air, but it's going to take some time this summer to get parts machined and that system worked out right. In the meantime I need to get my bronco back on the road next week to pull my boat. I can't remember...
I'm with the heim joint rout as well. The one I did on my bronco was a bracket that that bolted onto the front spring pads the same way as the leaf springs would (I did get stronger bolts made just for good luck). They were plenty strong and could be removed at will. Alignment was a breeze...
I guess if you are going original look than going crazy with a bumper wouldn't be such a good idea. Some paint to spruce it up will be about all it needs. Oh, and that's a cool scout. I'm sorry to say that the camo won't do much to hide those dents and rust though, my brother already tried it....
With the m90 shaft, assuming I get things done this way, I would buy a Pulley Boys Qwickchange kit and have 8 rib pulleys instead of the 6 rib Magnuson pulleys. That at least leaves me the option of going with an 8 rib belt. With the 8 rib I could decrease tension and still avoid slip as well as...
I decided not to go with an extension for the supercharger the way I had planned. I want to utilize an Eaton m90 snout that's been lying around and have it machined to accept an adapter. I think that with a housing, rubber coupler and more bearings there will be less chance of anything occurring...
Sure look'n good. I'd keep the bumper but spruce it up a bit, maybe tube instead of flat plate and change the design a little bit. It wouldn't look to bad this way though. But then again I'm not known for my bumper building, quite the opposite really.
LOL A simple misunderstanding....
I think the machine shop needs to get my parts done so I don't start with the distracting pics like Towcat. I'm getting impatient over here.
