Well guys I threw it on tonight after getting off work, and it is working good for now so apparently its compatible. Hopefully this one last longer the the first.
Well guys my starter was starting to go bad Friday had a bad spot I could beat it and it would start. So I went Saturday and normally I buy factory stuff because I have had bad luck with reman stuff, but the starters on these diesels are quite expensive the only place that had one in stock was...
Well guys now I am wondering if its a code 73 its pretty faded and its possible the top part of the 7 is almost gone making it look like a 1. This would make more sense as the faq shows it would be a dana with a 3.54
I got question on my axle code, shows as 13 , which according to the FAQ is a ford rear end 4.11 , I am pretty sure its a Dana 60 though from the looks of it and its a 84 so prior to the sterling coming out. Any ideas?
Ok so I have been having intermittently air in the system at start up, I have found the big rubber return line to the tank leaking so going to do that, however also noticed that the #3 injector is wet. I tightned the metal line to it and wiped it down but its slightly wet again (not pouring out...
Well from the schematic it is defiantly the return line to the tank. I am curious though and this is probably a dumb question. But since there is dual tanks , which tank to the return fuel line go to or does it go the one that is selected to use from?
Well after I get off work its dark out so Its hard to tell for sure but I think this connects to a metal line, It connects back close to the oil sending unit and glow plug controller is located and runs down close to the bellhousing and looks like it goes towards the fuel tanks.
Well I discovered that I mild fuel leak. At first I thought it was oil but see some occasional drips coming from behind the engine I tracked it down to the rubber return line on the rear of the engine. I am assuming this line is running back to the fuel tank. Does anyone know a part number or...
Well guys I got good news. I put in a replacement delphi controller and replaced all 8 plugs with new motorcraft. Everything went well I was a little paranoid about either breaking off the glow plug controller or the glow plugs breaking when coming out , but no problems. Starts like a champ again.
Motorcraft glow plugs in there and they are only got about 3k miles on them. I am hoping they are not all fried but they probably are. How long did yours stay on before it toasted them david85?
I am worried about using wrench back there since there is not much room. I think I might just...
Ok so whats the best way to remove it. Looks like a 1 1-8 inch socket would work but won't go over the plastic top and not enough room for a wrench. Also whats the best place to buy a new glow plug controller no one locally has one?
Yeah I think I know what you guys are talking about , I was back there a week ago changing the oil sending unit after you described it I remember seeing it. I think I am going to pick up a new old style one tonight for now so I can get the truck back on the road. I will probably update if I...
It probably stayed on 20 to 30 seconds. I know I probably fried some or all.
Thanks for the help guys, I will get a new controller and start from there and replace glow plugs if I need too.
