I found this a couple days ago. It's hiding in plain sight, so I never noticed it before, and have no idea when it appeared.

At a guess I'd say it's a vacuum hose of some sort. The white thingie on the end (a plunger?) pushes in as I suppose its designed to do. Location: it's sitting at my feet, just above the go pedal. I haven't looked around too much for at attachment point because it's really awkward for me. The hose disappears behind a panel off to the left. The thread on this thing seems unnaturally long.

On Edit: The hydroboost seems to have a slight leak, a project for another day.

Any ideas or thoughts?

Do you have cruise control?

F2TA-9D780 is a cruise control switch for a Bronco
F2TA-9D862 is the one in your photo . (sorta close-ish)

Is there an empty hole up by the brake pedal?

Just a guess..

Looks quite like the brake light switch.

Of course the brake light switch is not on a hose. LOL

It does look like the vacuum switch for the cruise. If you just turn the cruise off by the switch on the steering wheel you will find your speed slowly drops down. If you hit the brake pedal, there is a electrical switch on the pedal that turns it off electrically, but they have this vacuum switch on the brake pedal that is hooked directly to the servo and quickly dumps the vacuum off the servo so the cruise quickly drops back.

Got it!! There is indeed a place to stick that switch. I have suggestions for alternative places Ford can stick it. They couldn't have found a more awkward place for me. I'm not a big guy, but lying on my back in the footwell isn't easy. If I'm in there where I can see, there isn't much room for my arms. It might be easier if I had four joints between my shoulders and my hands.

I have no idea how long it's been off, out of it's mounting. That gives you some idea how often I use cruise control.

I thank you all for helping me.

Since the cruise doesn't work in my Blue Truck, I unplugged the vacuum hose and plugged it with a bolt while I was trying to track down vacuum leaks. I gained about 1" vacuum so it must have been leaking. The biggest leak turned out to be the brake booster, but any vacuum leak that's eliminated is a good thing.
