Why doesn't my pickup have anti-sway bars?

Title says it all...I have a D50 front and sterling 10.25 rear F250. But I have no anti-sway bars. I know 2wd fronts have them, and i think most F350 fronts/rears.

Thoughts? To be clear I dont have sway issues even with my big S&S camper loaded up but it's been bugging me for a few years off and on, keep meaning to ask.

Mine doesn’t either but there’s aftermarket available. As to the why, I couldn’t say for sure but my truck has no sway issues and you say yours doesn’t. Maybe that’s why ford never put them in

Probably something with the design of the D50; never seen sway bars installed on them(or D44 F-250s for that matter).

I'd consider buying one for my '89 4x4. While the sway isn't terrible, I can tell it does not have a swaybar.

IMO the reason 4x4's don't have them... leafs are stiffer than a coil/control arm (radius arm or whatever) setup. I used to have an XJ jeep.. (rear leafs, front coils/control arms) and when you disconnected the swaybar it was terrible to drive around town.

Some trucks had them. Some did not. My f350 parts truck had front and rear. My f250 had neither. Haven’t put them on and honestly, I’m not sure that I will.

My f350 doesn’t have them, but I have seen them on other f350’s before not sure why probably just a extra suspension package you could have chosen. Used to sway really bad with dead shocks but then got a new set and wouldn’t even think I didn’t have sway bars

My f350 crew 4x4 had them, took them off for awhile. Pretty noticeable difference with a big slide in camper or heavy load of wood. Been back on there for 10 plus years and they will stay on.

I think the reason is that you have leaf springs and a ride quality comparable to a lumber wagon.
With practically no suspension why would you need sway bars?:rotflmao

Haha! For sure there isnt much travel in the fronts, even after I put in add-a-leafs up front to bring it up to stock height.
I also have pretty very solid overload springs in the rear-- they look stock so I'm surprised so many F350's have the anti-sways.

And that's not to say I wouldn't notice a big difference if I had them, just not a problem for me even when loaded heavy. I think my camper is 2,200lbs. And a few times a year I carry a full pallet(one ton) of wood pellets home and I keep it tall and just drive home.

Also of note is that there isnt any hardware on the axle or otherwise that I've noticed where some PO had taken them off.

Thanks for the replies!
