1986 f250 6.9, red interior. The truck run when it landed in this spot, fuel system issues, as usual AC doesn't work. Front end rebuild about 5k ago, no parts complete truck only $1000 cash feel free to email any questions. Truck is in south TX.
I was thinking about putting a 38 gal tank in the back where the spare tire usually is. The tanks I keep finding for my 86 f250 keep saying gas only. So what's the difference in the tanks? Can I use a tank that's for gas in a diesel application?
Update, turned out the fuel pump was weak and not supplying enough pressure to the IP. I put a $30 pump on it and it ran great, hot starts great also. I dodged an expensive repair. Thanks for all the input!

Ok I know this is most likely a repeated question but I haven't been able to find an answer so I thought I would just ask...
This truck starts and runs great when it's cold but after it's warmed up and turned off it won't start or it's really hard to start. If it cools off it starts.

TRANS SWAP C6 to ZF
I could use some help and a lot of info on how to swap out my C6 and replace it with the ZF. Is this a straight forward swap or a real big PIA? I use to turn wrenches for a living so there is very little I won't tackle. The truck is an 86 f250 6.9l.
Ok so it looks like this conversion is the easiest way to get the OD. I haven't run across any bolt in autos that will do it. Any suggestions as to the easiest way to do this? Junk yard?
