What's a Banks wastedgated turbo kit in good condition worth?
Hi guys, Any idea what a good used Banks wastegated turbo kit is worth? Need some help with a coolant problem
Guys, I try not to bother yall with minor stuff, but I could use some input on a problem I'm having with my 6.9l. I started having an issue with it blowing coolant out of the radiator overflow tube. Throwing ideas around...250HP daily driver IDI?
I dyno'd my truck NA shortly after a complete 100% rebuild w/ the ZF 5-speed and 4.10's and it pulled 125hp/256tq at the rear wheels in 4th. I had it dyno'd again after I put the Banks wastegated turbo setup on and had the pump turned all the way up w/ 3.73's and the same tranny and it pulled...- bowedup2003

Ok, I understand that Banks turbo will be out of it's efficiency range above 12psi. Next question: from looking at the compound turbo kits on the market the larger remote mounted turbo feeds air back into the smaller turbo mounted on the manifold/turbo pedestal, etc. If the little turbo spools...- bowedup2003

Can you spot what's missing??
Be careful driving around w/o a bed or fenders! A rock slung out from between my duals and shattered my back window on the test drive w/ the new suspension! Bowedup- bowedup2003

Now Here's one someone's got to get.

One more thing, this turbo is designed to put out around 20 psi and it is wastegated, comes off of a 7.2L engine w/a max rpm of around 2400. It is also a watercooled cartridge. Bowedup- bowedup2003

Ok, got my first look at the new turbo I mentioned near the top of this thread today. Size wise it is not too much larger diameter wise than my Banks turbo but the hot and cool housings are thicker in size. Can anyone give me a crash course in how to read and interpret those A/R numbers on...- bowedup2003

Razorback, even not finished that is definately one of the coolest projects I've seen anybody try on a 6.9L in a long time! I can't wait to hear how it runs once you get the new pump on it! I agree that is a cool turbo setup! That turbo makes the Banks Turbo look tiny! What would a turbo like that originally have came on? Judging by the pics it looks similar to what goes on a 3406? Any idea how much boost it is putting out at full song on your IDI? My guess is our engines...- bowedup2003

It looks like the turbo is on a bracket made of angle iron and plate. I'm sure the owner will chime in but my guess is the turbo is below the frame so he had room to connect the exhaust elbow pictured as well as the cool side tube going back up to the engine.
