So since I can't keep up with if he's talking IDI or PSD.
I thought Justin had came up with the IDI heads are already pretty free flowing. Said they outflow the 6.0 PSD heads.

These heads flow great. But any head can benefit from cleaning up, especially older castings benefit from cleaning up some rough spots. Most the time I’ve spent porting is on the exhaust side of our heads, the intake is pretty good already

So more polishing than porting.

Yes and no, I really only port on the exhaust side, just touching up some spots on intake then smoothing everywhere. I was going to do a thread on it but there’s so much debate with porting I decided against it.LOL

I do it as apart of most my rebuilds

Well, if i have my threads straight... the 94 with the coolant disappearing i suspect cracked head or head gasket... but no leaking is happening.

If its the transmission overheating then thats my 2002 Powerstroke.... which should be fixed today because my mishimoto trans cooler came in last night

Oh you mean like the thin wall between the intake and coolant passages? Lol

Haha sure “thin” is relative, to someone that has done this a lot these idi heads have a lot more meat than a lot of gasser heads that get much more agressive porting. Don’t knock it till you’ve tried it yourself ;)

Not to hijack the thread but who is a good source of new heads for the 7.3 idi? Looking on google it comes up with puredieselpower.com but it's a dead link (to me anyway) or US diesel parts.

Where abouts do you live up there? I grew up in Oakhurst.
Really miss that place and after 18 years in Vegas, I'm more than ready to go back

just do a radiator pressure test and start looking for leaks. pump it up to 13psi, if the leak is external you will see the water dripping. you can do it cold.
