Okay, more FNG questions :D
I'm a medium sized guy, 5'9", buck sixty. I'm having to lay on top of/across the radiator/cowl/grill/etc. to gain access to the back half of the bay while doing things necessary for the turbo install. Any tricks to improve my leverage and comfort while decreasing the chance of damaging stuff? Right now, I just have a blanket as a pad across the radiator and the front of the compartment...

pillow on the hood latch. I had a gtg when I installed mine. Ezekiel (shortest guy in the group) was the one that laid across the motor. At 6'5" I walk a fine line from needing a stool to being able to reach everything.

I built a 20x24x30 box to give me three different height and width options. I generally try to work around the hood latch area and not directly in front of it and the box with proper lighting helps.

I'm about 5'7" and the same weight as you. I usually end up with one foot on the core support and one on the A/C bracket. I have no A/C compressor so I can't stay there too long without my foot hurting.

Three words:

TOP SIDE CREEPER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

My wife, mom and dad got me one for Christmas a couple years ago, since they couldn't figure out what to get and she remembered me commenting on wanting one more than once. (Same wife that bought me a 1911 last Christmas.....)

I've used it several times working on the glow plugs and N/A glow plug controller. It's nice to be able to lay across the engine bay and not having any truck or engine parts poking you.....

I'm 6'4" and 350+ and this works well for me!!!!!

Thanks all! That creeper is sweet! If I had a shop, it'd be on the list for sure. Considering that we live in a tricked out solar powered 30ft RV and my shop/toolbox is the back of the truck...

Since you are limited on space, the little 3 foot aluminum step ladder and a pillow might be a better suggestion....
