Dana 60 Steering Bumpstop Adjustment

Is there any procedure for adjusting the bumpstops on the Dana 60 knuckles? Mine looks like I could get it to turn sharper, but I don't want to turn too sharp and bind anything.

I do need to confirm that I have the same number of turns from side to side once I get my new steering box in.

when I had my 92 f350, I took the steering stops out, and put them in the glove box...

All I can tell ya is, I didn't have any ill effects. It was a 92 crew cab, it had the turning radius of the titanic before and after removing the steering stops, but it did make it a little better. Since I was able to remove mine, I'm sure you are safe to adjust yours however you would like.

Did you have any problems with the axle U-joints binding up with the wheel cranked hard over while the front hubs were locked?

That's the only potential problem I can think of...otherwise, sounds like a great idea to me!

Hmmm. I have slightly oversize tires (285/75/16) and until I installed some 1/2" wheel spacers the tires would sometimes rub on the leaf spring. Not sure I'd want to remove the stops....
