id much rather deal with a staple in the hose than taking my whole damn passenger side belt system off to get to a maintenance point like a fricken t-stat...
alot of things dont make sense, but we deal with it!

Just like IDIot says and like the OP's photo, mine had the staple with the funky screw clamp and the hose said Motorcraft on it.
I may still have the hose laying around, I'll have to take a look for it.

This is so true, It used to be stuff got replaced based on age/miles, as preventative maintenance, but anymore, you really have to judge the condition of stuff or else you put stuff on that wont outlast the "worn out" stuff.

My truck only had 64k original miles on it when I got it back in 2010. My uncle had used it for towing a 5th wheel cross country, so perhaps it had more wear and tear than the average low mileage truck, but most everything is original. I know the water pump was done at some point, so all the hoses were replaced, but other than that, it's pretty obvious that some stuff has been on the truck since it was new. My philosophy has been, if it ain't broke, don't fix it. When I first got the truck I wanted to start replacing stuff, but I quickly realized that would not be necessary and in many cases, I would be replacing parts with parts of questionable quality.
