I'll be real curious to see how the flex couplers hold up. That would make for some interesting possiblities. I have one on my hyundai and with 188k miles its starting to leak. That might be acceptable wear. :D

I suspect the diesel will be quite a bit hotter though.

diesel exhaust is much cooler than gasoline. at WOT we will hit 1200F, gassers will hit 1800-1900F. Much mor eheat wasted out the exhaust.
I too am curious though. I was an idiot and forgot to get a 3" one, so now i gotta p0ay 12$ extra shipping. Basicaly want one at the end of my down pipe where it goes to the 4". So the exhaust can flex independant of the frame and engine. gotta get that stianless steel though, or you get some salt in the sheating and it rots it right out.

fuel tank holder. The inside is braced with 1x1 angle iron. Was going to do it on the outside but not enough room. Will use the same coating inside and out as i did on the cab.
going to weld a bungon the bottom of it to drain water which im sure will still get up into the holder.

final degreasing and painting of the engine today is whats on the menu.

long long hours. Your got a family so im sure that takes up a looot of time. My fiances patients grows thin with me on this, hardly spend any time with her. Almost done though. Dec 18 is my deadline to have it running and driving. Might not be all done in the details but enouygh that I can comfortably drive it to the parents house for xmas break. Would love to get the lift gate going by then as i gotta pick up an engine for a buddy..but that needs alot of modification and am not even sure the ram is long enough..

engine and trans install on tuesday, tuesdya nigth will be spent modding the trans cross member. Wed probably pick up some 2x1 1/8" tubing for the T case cross memebr. or...I do hace a 3" 3/16" i beam in the garage i could use and make some drop legs out of 1/4" steel...

still need to drill the slots for aligning the cab, and get the propane heater on the firewall so i can finish undercoating it...lots of work left but the big bulky stuff is mainly done...trans crossmember and figuring the PS situation are the major projects left.

Curious, why didn't you turn the channels in instead of out? Is there a particular reason? I could see that being good for keeping clearance lights in tact.
