So here we are in a new year and I'm simply answering pm's and posts asking for help when it dawns on me. Every post I make creates another posting milestone for me and this forum. Its difficult for me to think I have more posts than anyone else and every time I post something.. Thats a new post record. I don't know when this started but I'm sometimes a slow leaner. I often miss something thats right in front of me... Like of like when I got my avatar from a couple of jokers talking to the cell phones one nite. the biggest crackpot suggested I needed an avatar so they went to the web and entered my first and last name. and you guessed it.. that pic of my hands came up first. So they "gifted" me with it. I didn't actually see it for about a month or two. Had to call San Jose area and ask a moderator whats going on. He suggested I call Mich and talk to a dog catcher. Wow.. I was surprised others cared to tease me like that.. I felt an instant honor too. So there you have it. I don't feel I'm famous but many members do and I appreciate that thought. Always here to help is my motto this year.... IDI TILL I DIE....:hail:sly:angel:

I think if I had stayed at RCA, there wouldn't have been any way to catch up to me. LOL I think I have somewhere like around 37,000 posts if you combined all my forum "careers". But no one site has outlasted my ability to post. Now that I have a real job, I'm just like the rest of the people who used to congratulate me. :)

Mel is and will always be the leader in posts no matter what I have here or other places. I left "the other site" many years ago and have never looked back. A pantload from one of your colder northern cowboy states continued to beat up on me when he felt he knew more than I. Last post that sent me away was him telling anyone that would read or listen he was a EXPERT when it came to installing freeze plugs without the special tool and felt anyone could do it too. but he used his many years of experience too. I felt it was time to leave and I did. So why let one poster run me off. Well I felt more help could be offered her and the learning here was better for me. I continue to learn more bout these trucks and engines all the time. So Mel will rein as the number one poster no matter what his count tells us and I'm a happy second to him. Its not the first time I have been second to something. In 1969 my draft lottery number was.... 002.:rolleyes::D Then after that I was second in another world but loved being there all the same too...

Yeah, on that other forum it's hard to get a word in edgewise between chuckster and drinkypoo. I actually got a " I agree with you this time". :rotflmao :puke:

I guess I should be glad I found this forum first, I have never been to "the other one." Maybe I'll go over there sometime to see what the fuss is about.

Based off of the drinkypoo and Chuckster posts, I'm guessing its thedieselstop.com
Yep!! There are quite a few of us around who "started" on what used to be known as ford-diesel.com (they renamed themselves to thedieselstop.com after Ford issued a "Cease and Desist" letter demanding that their name be taken off of it). I haven't been over there since 2005, so things may or may not have improved (I suspect it hasn't improved)...but, the site was primarily geared towards PSD guys, and the IDI crowd was treated like red-headed stepchildren at best. Because of this, the IDI crowd had pretty much formed their own community in the "basement", almost never venturing elsewhere and leaving the PSD guys alone...and this was fine with both groups. The final straw for quite a few members was when TDS's powers-that-be decided to assign a new moderator to the IDI boards (yes, boards; for some reason they kept the 6.9l people and the 7.3l IDI people on separate forums), who was a PSD guy and who decided that the basement needed a good steam cleaning  His moderating style didn't go over well with most of the IDI group...he was very strict about "off-topic" posts; anything that strayed off the original topic and/or didn't fit the narrow subject of the forum would get an immediate padlock and a stern chewing-out from him. The end result of this was a mass migration in 2005.

I had been on TDS since 2000, and had racked up a bit over 6300 posts there before migrating here. I signed up on OB in January 2005 and haven't looked back once ;Sweet
