Slave cylinder woes no more!!

Well since i did a motor swap in my truck over the weekend i had an issue with the clutch....the fork had fallen out of the trans and the slave cylinder sprung.

Well i tried and tried and finally the truck and the rain won so i gave up....

Today it was bugging the crap out of me since the little wing doodad has worn through....how could i re-create this and i came up with this baffling stroke of brilliance...

Nothing more then a 5" hose clamp and 5 minutes with a grinder. It clips on just like the original and you use the screw to compress the piston...

Even a blind squirrel gets a nut once in awhile

Had the slave back on in 5 minutes!

FIRST I gotta see pics too cause I've never seen the plastic doohickeythingamajiggy in person myself so your NEW creation may be just the HOT TICKET ITEM!


Well when I did my transmission swap my slave did NOT have the plastic doohickeythingamajiggy on it

I just slipped the slave into position best I could then took a NUT driver slightly smaller than the BALL end of the pushrod and pressed in really hard. ONCE it was pressed in enough and I had the nut driver against clutch fork I tipped my nut driver away forcing the tip to deposit the ball end of pushrod onto the proper spot on clutch fork.

It was so simple to do heck I could do it with a 1/4" ratchet + extension and socket of correct size. I cannot believe how simple that works

Another way to compress the slave cylinder is wrap some fishing line around those cutout tabs and then use any piece of nut driver or extension as a torniqute deal. Twist till you get what you want....
