So I have this itch that a stack would be great to have on my truck. My 8 year old says two stacks would be better and my wife says they would look gay!

So what I want to know, is how many members around here really like stacks? I wasnt thinking chrome or anything, just maybe something in the 5 or 6 inch range that was painted black.

I like stacks in pairs and liked them better when they where not as popular. I would however, listen to the wife first.

I used to like stacks and wanted to put a single stack on my truck (with a rain-cap :D I always loved to see a truck or a boat at full throttle with the flap sticking up from the front of a stack)...however, over the last 5 years or so, it's really become the "diesel ricer" thing to do. So many punk kids with "Daddy-bought-it-but-I-got-it" lifted late-model pavement-princesses are running them while behaving a whole decade younger than they are (even though they just got their licenses)....

Frankly, for that reason, at this point stacks on a pickup truck have a negative connotation IMHO

Besides, if the wife ain't happy, then ain't nobody happy LOL ;Sweet

Just my $.02...

I agree with your wife, personally. Way too 'look at me' for my tastes.

Mike

I'm trying to avoid the "look at me" and still have what I like, My truck is not nice enough looking for that. I was thinking just one and no higher than the cab. Also thought black wouldnt stand out as bad. I prefer the ones that have the 45 degree outlet on top.

My truck had stacks when i bought it. Decided i didn't like not being able to hear the radio, having a red truck with black dots all over it, having plastic items find there way to the pipe and then promptly melt to it stinking up the cab, or being "one of those guys" in town. Took them off and now have a tractor muffler going to a side pipe and couldn't be happier.

Oh please, who came up with that? Never really understand why they put that on a truck, but I see most of them drive alike.

Well, like any other vehicle fad, the first guy that did it was brilliant. Then everyone else came along and screwed it up. Same as wings, fartcans, certain wheels, Altezza-style taillights, JDM parts, etc.

The other issue with stacks (for me) is the loss of usable bed space and the amount of hacking required. I don't think I could ever bring myself to hack up my truck that much, but that's just me.

Vegas39 I think what you have in mind is appriate an would not look bad at all if it's not perfect paint an shiny wheels an all the black dots an stuff from stack is not a big deal. Just make sure she's not smoking a whole lot since you live in a big city.

then when it's humid out and the soot flies out and gets on the cab and turns everything black. i had them on mine, the only time it looked good was at the sled pulls tugging the sled. otherwise leave the stacks for the rigs.

I like the look of stacks... Not too happy with the trach can size of some of them. But a modest stack in fine. I too couldn't cut up my bed for them either. They do look great of the big rigs going down the roads...

She roals coal! I've been talking for years about buying a smoke puff limiter because I have a heavy foot.

I didnt stop and think about soot all over the truck though.
