I have a '95 PSD and I am curious how much boost it should make with factory specs? I want to hook up a boost gauge on it and I am also wondering if there is a port somewhere I can put a fitting in?

Good Morning Ya'll.
Turbo boost is relative to load and/or RPM of the engine. Say your going down the Hiway at 60 MPH with no headwind and a 20 MPH tailwind, and your producing a 2 lb boost, then turn around and face the headwind, in order to maintain that 60 MPH, the engine has more load on it which takes more fuel which produces more exhaust and in turn makes the turbo spin faster which makes more boost, about 5 lbs. Hope that explanes it.
To install a boost guage, any place after the turbo cold side, EGT is measured on the exhaust (HOT) side, preferrably in the exhaust manifold close to #8 cyl. Some turbos have a port for boost, if not you have to drill and tap for a fitting, useually 1/8" NPT. In the pic, the fitting with the clear hose is for boost guage.

OK, thanks for the info, I will have a look. I maybe shoulda specified better...I was curious what the max boost I would see out of a stock PSD. I have owned a few highway tractors for years and so I know all about how boost works...more boost = more fuel = MPG's go down

I see that...thanks! Is that a hole you drilled n tapped or it should already be there?
Your '95 won't have a manifold like this one. Just T into the map hose.

OK, I had a look at it and yea, it is different. The 'T' looks like a nice and easy job. Now where might I install a pyro sending unit on this set up?

OK sounds good...should there be a plug there already or am I gonna have to tap one? If there is what size would it be so I know what size of sender to get. All the gauges I am using are made by Isspro I think and came out of a freightliner highway tractor (only $10 each at the wrecker) and I have used autometer sending units and so far so good...but that is just for oil temps so far...
