It helps to undscrew the bolt holding the dash about 2/3 up the door, and maybe the one at the top front of the e-brake. Then the dash will lift up and out from the bottom a little.

When I did my conversion, I went to a picknpull and got the whole assembly in good shape for $16.99.;Sweet

You'll all laugh at me when I say this but whenever I need to get under the dash for any length of time I pull the seat the just lay on the floor. Not the most comfortable unless you're working on a CC but better than the alternative.

I just pulled the whole pedal assembly out of a bricknose at the junkyard the other day. Only took about 1/2 hour. Got the steering column loose from the pedal bracket (and it was a non-tilt column with the bench seat still installed), and I was able to roll the pedal assembly counter clockwise around the steering column and out from under the dash. Only complication was the speedo cable was running through the pedal bracket - but being a JY truck, I just cut it.

??? It was either cut the cable, or disassemble the whole gauge cluster to get the speedo cable off of the back of the speedo. Are you saying you would want to use a speedo cable out of a JY truck? They're pretty cheap at the parts store.

Parts store speedo cables are no where near as reliable. I kept breaking them in my truck until I found one in a JY. yes, i would rather use the JY part, they're even cheaper and often times better quality.
