Why would it have to be smogged?. Last I knew California did not smog anything 25 years and older. When I was living their I had a 72 Caddy smogged that sat for two years and it passed. In fact it was way lower than the requirements and they go by what the requirement was in that year not the current year.

Unless they changed something recently, they originally smogged anything built within 25 years, but they froze that in 1999...so that, now, any gasoline-powered vehicle built in 1974 or later needs to be smogged.

I'm not sure how it works with non-CA emissions vehicles (never brought a vehicle requiring emissions checks into CA)...they may be more lenient, or they may be more strict with the intent of forcing the vehicle off the road I may be one of the more liberal people here, but I want nothing more than to see the CARB disbanded

my father in law has a 68 highboy with that same turn signal switch it actually is a great little gismo and beeps if its on to long if you dont know it. and most highboys and fords from 78-80 had that style steering wheel and column and isnt that hard to change out. my 78 bronco came stock with that same column and wheel

I'm pretty sure the 360 in the same FE family as both of those engines, with a slightly smaller stroke than the 390. Different bore and stroke than the 428, though.

love that body style but like the 79 grill better.absolutely beautiful truck though.

had a 72 350 wrecker with a 360 that i couldnt kill.i ran that thing 3 miles on the floor in 2nd gear trying to blow it up.motor wa toast and had a nice 428 out of a tbird waiting to go in it.with the 428 in it there wasnt anything that truck wouldnt pull.would even burn the tires off it.i got in so much trouble for twisting off driveshafts my friend got pissed on 15th shaft and ripped the motor out of it and sold it to stuff a 360 back in it

I'm well aware of the FE family.
That was my point tho.... spend thousands on a paintjob and can't spend $150 on a 390 crank.
