I also forgot about the Trans temp gauge. Don't tow with out it.! overheat can kill the oil ,yes. But 1 overheat can kill the transmission also. The deep oil pan is a great mod along with an external filter. In the same breath I think the 3 most important is the lock up switch,the dual oil coolers & the temp gauge. A good auto can last if cared for.

Swap in a ZF and gear vender along with a '92+ front clip. Ya ain't a real man unless you have a school bus throw length shifter....

That's quite a web site you have there Jim. I personally like the Mopar transport, Keep the Mopar, just drop the Girl off, 1202 S. Clay St. Enjoyed looking at all the vintage trailers etc.
Nice trailer and truck on the last haul.

The quad axle set up lasted about 6 months but was overkill.
I am back to the triple axle set up.

Here is a nice load I brought out last week to La Verne, CA

2000 miles and going ....

Well,

I am in Kansas tonight.

I replaced the stock Fram air filter with a K & N.

I located the auxiliary tranny cooler w/ electric fan under the passenger
side and removed a makeshift ' rock shield ' made of sheet metal
the previous owner had placed under it to increase airflow & cranked
the t-stat all the way down so it kicks in right away.

I keep an eye on the tranny temp gauge.

Kinda hard getting used to not clutching & thinking I am gonna
stall coming up on a stop.

Lots of nice extras on this rig - rear seat makes into a bed,
visors over all the windows, visor over the windshield, deep
window tinting.

Looks like the original engine & the mileage is probably
165,000 original - really clean.

Feel kinda spoiled driving an automatic though .....

Even worse having matching pair stick/auto Broncos and Superduties. Stompin for a clutch on startup on the slushboxes, and not grabbin' the shifter on the handshakers.

Any specific product suggestions for a tranny cooler to replace
the stock cooler in front of the radiator?

Looking for a larger cooler with an electric fan that would fit.

Check on www.dieselsite.com He sells the Tru Cool brand coolers. No fan required with this unit..

A few hundred dollars later .....

A few hundred dollars later .....

Replaced the power brake booster & the vacuum pump

Pulled the original factory injectors - installed a set I had
(but had them pop tested first) - cleaned the CDR valve
and installed a new injector return line kit

Replaced the belts

Went to service the rear differential - two bolts snapped off
(which has happened before in my 90' F-350)
ALWAYS install new differential bolts - it ain't worth trusting
the last yahoo that probably overtightened them)
Cleaned out the 4:10 gears & cover - then installed
Royal Purple 85/140 gear oil

Flushed the power steering system & installed a new return hose

Gonna have the IDI pump timing checked & reset on Monday
at Warren County Diesel Service
