HELP! Fuel leak

Check the filter housing and lid for cracks.
This is the thing that I cannot understand. The engine is DRY everything on the engine, the front, the sides, the top.... I have no choice. I'm going to have to remove the fan and run it that way. With the fan in play, there is no way to tell where this is coming from. I'll take it off tomorrow, gunk everything good and see if I can limit the wetness to one particular area. About the only thing in my mind that could cause this that I can see, is if there is a pin hole in something, either a head, or a line, or something, that is squirting a very fine but strong stream streight forward in such a way that it doesn't even dribble. It doesn't appear to do it when it is idling, so it probably won't do it while I'm looking at it.

Make sure where the line attaches to the fron of the head is tight. I had on do this to me at the shop and couldn't find it no matter what. Finally just tightened everything and that was the only thing loose. After tightening leak was gone.
OK, so over the weekend I removed the fan and the shroud. So now I'm driving around just trying to avoid stopping for any period of time. Ride to work went OK. I got there and opened the hood. I do not SEE any fuel anywhere, but still smell it SOME. Not as bad as before, but that may be because there isn't anything stirring up the air. With the time change, it's gonna be dark for sure when I get home, so that's going to make it fun to look for stuff. What a pain it is to have to take that drivers side radiator hose off just to get the shroud in and out.

Very funny. 
I can laugh now. I think the Exxon Valdeeze has finished whizzing. It appears that the drain valve must have been the fix. There was enough risidual fuel laying in all the nooks and crannies and was just being regurgitated by the fan. After running it a couple days without the fan, Gunk'ing it and hosing it down, it now seems to be dry and leak free. At least I assume that's what happened. 
Well my bliss was short lived. Pulled into work today and thought I smelled something. Looked underneath and saw a drip. Look farther, the spring, tie rod and axle are soaked with fuel. Opened the hood, and it's the same old story. Fuel everywhere the fan could put it. Passenger battery soaked, coolant overflow tank soaked, frame, wheel well. Everything. By now it's obvious that it doesn't leak unless it is at cruising speed. Short of finding a dyno, and running it with the hood open, I have no idea how I will ever find this. There is a CRAP load of fuel coming out. Wherever it is coming from, it's got to be shooting a stream with a good bit of force. This is not some kind of drip that is just trickling down somewhere. In order to make it into the fan, it's got to look like some kid peeing off a bridge. Is it possible I have a cracked head or something? I'm this "" close to taking it to my dealer. Either that, or I'm just going to park it until Spring. Crappy thing is right now it's my only daily driver. Everything else I own is in need of something, and what isn't I refuse to drive to work. I'm beginning to understand why this forum is so quiet. When people have a problem, it's not just some little problem. It's like every frickin' thing with this that could go wrong is something major or hard to deal with.

i for one have never seen a fuel leak problem of this magnitude. silly question, but are you sure it's fuel and not coolant? the coolant smells kinda similar and would make much more sense the way it's leaking.

Short of trying to set the stuff on fire, the only thing that tells me it is fuel, is the smell. Hmm.. at this point, a match may be just the tool I need. There is enough to be able to saturate a paper towel, that is for sure. So perhaps I will sop some up and try to light it. If it's coolant, at least it won't burn. I'd like to think my nose is still the one part of my body that is working as good as it used to.

Have somebody push the go pedal while you poke around under the hood. The leak should show up. The odd part is that the fuel pressure is approximately the same,at idle or WOT. Why it doesn't show up at idle is strange.
