Look's like Mel's pumps are the hot ticket. How do they compare to the DPS Turbo Pumps? I'm still a PSD owner but I see my old IDI everywhere around town & would like to steal it back someday.

Mel's pumps kick ass. Just the customer service alone is enough to convince you to go with him too.

Glad to hear he's doing well with them. I think he was just finishing the first one the last time I saw him. Nice to see your avatars are still

Hey Scott, how's things going, doing well here.
I was thinking about you the other day Mike. Our local RV dealer is in real trouble & may go under. I was wondering how you were making out. Carhauling is in the toilet. I've got 2 bid bids out for multiple dealer contracts. If I don't win at least one of them, I'm gonna have to dump one of the trucks. NC work has dropped off to the point where I don't sleep well at nite. Bad all around up here:puke:.

Where you been hiding at???;Really
I've been spending alot of time on a classic bronco board as I picked up a '71 really cheap with a lot of new parts & am building it up when time permits. I don't get to work on it much as I have no spendable income, the girls are growing up too damn quick & are now involved in Brownies & other activities that require my time, & trying desperately to keep my business from failing:eek: Doesn't leave alot of time for web surfing. I talked to Joe Lewis the other day because he needed his engine crane back (yes, I've had it here since I blew the PSD up), so I thought I'd check in to see what's new.

Nice to see old friends. And yes, I wish more than ever I was still a basement dweller......

Good to hear from you Scott! We were afraid you had fallen into the "where are they now" catagory. We just had a BOOB meet yesterday, and would have loved to see you there. Used to be we could get you, and EZ, and the Lewis's to come to those. Now they don't come anymore. :dunno We miss you and them.

Hey Scott...Sorry I missed you, but I understand you and Steph had a nice talk. ;Really

Mel, we had all intentions of showing our faces. Nicole and I came down with a cold, my sister from GA ended up at our house Friday night and I spent all day yesterday sleeping!

Sorry to hear that Joe. I didn't see a post with your intentions so we didn't know what to expect. Glad to see you checking in. ;Sweet

Me, I'm doing OK. Freight is slow but I do have my retirement too. Hey have you tried Central Dispatch for car loads.

Have seen a local RV dealer here close both locations and saw one of the huge internet discount dealer go under and close 2 locations. We hauled hundreds of units from them back to our yard for storage and ther is going to be an Adessa auction at our yard in about a week for about prolly 400 new and used RVs.

If I were you I'd ditch both class 8 rigs and run a 53' wedge with extensions on both ends behind a pickup or medium duty.

It would cut way down on expenses, especially insurance and eliminate workmans comp, fuel cost is lower, truck payment is lower, repair cost is lower and could probably make just as much or more take home without the stess.

No, I'm still here. I lurk more than speak but I figured I'd pipe up after talking to Joe last week. Haven't really been keeping up with the BOOB meetings. EZ faded away?

I've used it in the past but the rates suck on that site. Up here, you don't make too much money with a wedge. Too many other big truck companies that can all the load at once instead of pieces. Plus all my contacts & clients know me as the guy who can stuff a truck to the gills. I'd lose more than half my client base if I went to a wedge. Everyone up here wants it NOW. If I dump one truck & the driver, I'll be fine.

Out of curiosity, Scott, Mike, has the fall in fuel prices acted in anyway to counteract the slowdown of business?

Nope. Fuel prices isn't what hurt the RV business. (didn't help either though)

People buy RVs with discretionary money as for most the RV isn't a "need" item.

Falling home prices is what killed the RV industry and the frozen credit market as banks hoard money has nailed the lid on the coffin for many dealers, manufacturers and transporters.
