So that's what causes the tach falling to near zero at idle? Mine just started doing it, I was leaving a diner this morning and it was at the bottom, but would read nice and steady when I got above 1000rpms? Then it magically fixed itself as I was driving, all was fine till I parked the truck at my job site trans shifts perfectly normal. Then tonight I head out and tach reads good but trans shifts high, then again it magically fixes itself as I'm driving. I get home, shut off, then I fire her up again to back her up in the driveway, tach is being stupid again, and I'm sure trans will follow suit. Sound like the tach sensor being the issue?
