for the motor - Delo 400 has been the best one I have found... wanted to do the synthetic but can't bring myself to pay for it...

Mobil 1 full synthetic in the tranny... and that's because we get it for free...

I was a diehard Mobil 10-40 user, cuz that's what my Dad ran for years on a rural mail route, with no oil related problems.

Now that I can buy Valvoline Cummins Premium Blue, for cost, at work, I run it. We run it 30k miles, in the Cats, so I figure it must be pretty good stuff.

Cats: Allied Syn 50 in the gearboxes, and Allied Syn 75-90 in the pumpkins.

Mine: Allied Syn 75-90 in almost everything, else.

Well, except the flamethrower motor in my 49. It uses so much, I buy the cheapest junk I can find. You think a quart every 80 miles, or so, is excessive?

I used Rotella T 15w40 for the first 60,000 miles changing it every 5,000 miles. I've just switched to Amsoil 5w30 synthetic recently. One of our club members (WNYPA)is the local distributer. He says it's good for 30,000 miles but I doubt I'll go that far, maybe 15 or 20,000 miles, depending on the analysis report. I'll just change the filter every 5,000 miles and should be good to go. I'm gonna do Amsoil synthetic from front to back when I get the $$$$.

I've noticed that the truck starts much easier in the cold weather with the synthetic oil, even when it's below zero. I don't plug in the block heater anymore and the truck starts like it's been parked inside all night. I used to get the mini-romps sometimes when it was really cold out but not any more with the Amsoil synthetic.

Rotella T 15W-40 all the way. Used it on everything on the farm since I was knee high to a grasshopper. Used it in a couple gassers as well.

5w30 or 10w30 Mobil1 in my mecury sable. I forget exactly which type, but from what I've read there isn't is a significant difference between the two weights.

That was back when fuel was affordable. :)
Now I filter it and toss it in the fuel tank. ;Sweet

What's RP? What synthetic trans oil is out there that is not sulfur based (for the sake of the bronze components in my ZF-5 shooter). To answer the question, I use Shell Rotella T 15w-40, and Lucas oil stabilizer (going to Rotella T Synthetic 5w-40, and in the boxes)
