I might buy it, seems like a fair deal at $5000, its a woman selling it and she doesent know anything about it except the obvious and its has a 4in susp lift. She says it had a new ford motor put in some time ago and the milage of the truck is unknown, is there no 6th odo digit on a 92? Some things I know I want to know are

Should I be afraid of the E4od I think is in there, it is a auto.

Is it a D60 front?

Should I worry about the lift?

Is a 92 factory turbo? :dunno

What other knowledge should I be armed with if I am considering a purchase?

Look at the front tires, bad wear pattern, any ideas? bad toe?

If I buy it I want to paint the middle white

92's had turbo optional. I do not know about much about the autos, I have a 5 spd. It looks like a good truck.

VA tags and no inspection or ****** sticker either? When was the last time it was on the road?

Same Wheels that I have on BIg Ed!

Looks like a good deal for 5K. the 92 Does have the 6th didget on the odometer so it should show correctly. If the body is as solid as it looks, and runs and drives good, offer her $4500.00.

Dana 6o front.

No factry turbo in 92, does it have a turbo? If so it is aftermarket.

E40d is ok, I wouldnt be afraid of it if it works well now. especally with no turbo, not enough power to hurt it.

Good Luck! keep us posted.

check this out

If it has no turbo I dunno, I could always take my hypermax off mine before I sell it but then I thing the truck would be harder to sell. Anyway, I love the ford stripe.;Sweet

Yup,

it's the same as mine( '93) but the factory turbo wasn't an option till late '93/early '94.

Seems like with the E4OD, if you get a good one, it's fine, but if you get a dud, it's a pain. If it's working good, then be sure to change the fluid, put on the biggest cooler you can afford, and drive it.

The D60 is great. It coud be kingpine style, or balljoint style, balljoint being more common.

The wear on the tires could be toe, or it could also be as a result of the lift. If not done properly, it can mess up the castor/camber, which can also result in wear like that, especially the camber. You'd need to drive it to see if it pulls/doesn't come back to center, crabwalks down the road, or generally doesn't steer straight.

If it's factory, it will likely be a 7.3, and you really need to know if it was maintained with SCA, or you could be looking at a cavitation issue. Be sure to get a compression test, and especiallyl a coolant system pressure test. Look in the rad for oil in the coolant, and especially look in the oil for hints of coolant. Check the overflow tank for bubbles while it is running. Any of these problems, and you're buying a truck with dead engine.

Up here in the great white north, that truck would be worth upwards of $12,000=$15,000 right about now in decent shape!!

i would take it to a good front end shop to have it looked over and see what needs to be replaced before i would offer anything. i would probably offer 4000 for the truck because your definitely going to have to put some money in it for tires and front endwork. but its looks like a very soild truck;Sweet

My guess is that if the tires were rotated every 5K to 7K miles there would be no issue. The tires dont look caped, just worn out on the outside which would happen by turning corners hard with the wide rims.

Yea, my moms truck does that with the same width tires. Course she drives it like a Ferrari.

Thats a really fair deal right there.

'92-'97 PSOM's show 5 digits under 100k and don't bring up the sixth 'till a 1 is needed.

Not really sure why, it just seems like not original color black. Check out the body mounts as the cab seems to be sittin' askew from the bed. Hard to tell from the lighting, but maybe a kink on the passenger side bed above the wheel well.

What state is it in?
