Tire question for F350 4x4

I have run 265/75R16 on my 1991 F350 4x4 since I purchased it 15 years ago. I have a chance to buy a set of slightly used 315/75R16 tires for cheap. What is the largest tire that can be used on the with the stock suspension?

That tires almost 35" tall. I don't think they'll fit without rubbing. I have 33"s on my truck and don't see how anything taller would fit with the stock suspension.

I run 33X12.50R16.5's on my truck, with the stock suspension. The tires do rub a little with the wheels turned in one direction or the other, but other than that fit real well, and I've seen 285's and 305's (33's) fit on these trucks no problem.

Yes, I'm agreeing with you, just thought I'd add my personal experiences with tire size.

I'm in aggreance with you guys, those 315's might fit in there, but you will have rubbing issues when you turn or hit a bump ect... Now if you had a mild suspension lift, say 2.5" I would say that they might work, but I couldnt garuntee it.

Yeah, I think with even a 2" lift on the front they would fit. There's all sorts of room in the back.

Yes they will fit,..I have an add a leaf on the front just to level the truck with stock rears, run 35's with no problems, and I believe they would fit without the add a leafs.

Take into consideration that everyone that has posted so far has an F-250, not a F-350.

The F350's sit 2" higher. I say buy them and run em! If you have to add a leaf to level the front they are cheap.

Yup, I was just going to say JUST that, a F350 is 2" taller in the nose, 35's will fit just fine.

DeanstuD has an 87 F-350. He has 35s and just a touch of rubbing on the bumper. His truck is stock hight.

How wide are these 35"s people are runnin? 315mm is pretty wide and I'd be wondering about full lock turning hitting the leaves. From my memory 305mm is the max width for pre '05 trucks.

315's and 305's both equate to a 12.50" tire(315 = 12.6", 305 = 12.3 or so.)
My 305'***** the springs at full lock on the diesel,but, only to the left. I haven't noticed if the 9.00R16's on the 460 truck touch(36"x9")
My buddy has 315's on his 88 F350, and they don't touch anything, the D60 doesn't turn as sharp as TTB does.

Thanks for the replies. I left a message for the person with the tires, but have not heard back. If I go that way, I am going to need new rims, so I would only be saving $150 over buying a new set of BFGs. The front bumper does look a bit close, but could adjust it forward slightly.

go with cut out fender flares, it not only lets you run bigger tires but you never have to worry about the rear wheel wells rusting out since you cut them out, and they make any trk look so much better
