    TURBOcharger BUYING GUIDE

Could not afford $2,000 for a new one with a damned warranty. Spent $400 on mine and love it! If it turns out to be pissin oil ,sounding like someone installed a OIL LEAKING SAND BLASTER UNDER THE HOOD (even though it has not yet) then I will buy another USED one for a fraction of the price or...

IDI truck serp and 5.0 gas serp brackets

I would almost think it would be easier to take the IDI bracket, (looks steel) weld in some plate, and then cut or drill it out to fit the Saginaw pump. Unless I am wrong, one looks aluminum and one looks steel. The aluminum one also has a bit of extra ribbing for reinforcement. Just looked...

What clutch are you running and how do you like it?

I run a Sachs in my GMC - it has held up to a lot of towing and loads. That was after shearing the hub out of my Centerforce disc. I am running an Autozone clutch on my F350 and that too has been good, but have not towed much with it yet.

Need help with Frankenstein mess - no brakes

One thing that sticks out to me is the vacuum pump is run off the water pump pulley, and is likely spinning slower than it would be if it was attached to the alternator. I am not sure if it would make a difference, but it looks like a headache in there no matter where you start. Try pulling the...

    Getting ready for a trip??

Brakes sounds like the master is bad..... How deep do you want to go in replacement or upgrade? I would have to agree with the above diagnosis, but leaning toward air intrusion as the shudder.

    Gm trans adaptor

Might be able to turn around or modify a GM to SAE trans adapter and take off the current IDI to ford trans adapter. Otherwise, you might want to do a hybrid transfer case or divorced transfer case.

    F-super duty front springs on a 4x4 F350?????

I put in a pair of drop brackets I bought used. I also put in a drop pitman arm. I had bought the springs for about $25 on a pick and pull half off day. I also put in a set of f350 blocks. For less than $150, I a better riding, slightly higher truck.

Need good affordable aftermaket filter and water separator

Are you still going to run the factory filter too? I am running a Racor 500 I found at the junkyard - $20! Keep your eyes open. There are many pieces floating around on CL.

Fuel problem...injector pump is getting fuel but won't push fuel?!?!

Bypass that water separator for now. They are well known for letting in air. Next make sure you have more than a quarter tank of fresh fuel. Once you have those taken care of, we can start chasing down any other points where air is getting into the fuel system.

Scored a hydro boost setup , have a few questions..

You would have to modify a York and mount it either in place of the A/C pump, or fab up a mount to drive it off of the alternator with a 3 groove pulley or off the power steering with a 2 groove pulley. With that said, it is WELL worth the effort! I love mine!

Scored a hydro boost setup , have a few questions..

You would need an A/C pump for the air tools and the vacuum pump still controls the vent doors. As for the pooh - I try to do the precautionary deuce before I go to the yard to thwart off any of those issues! Gary - that is freaking awesome!

Fuel problem...injector pump is getting fuel but won't push fuel?!?!

Loosen the injector lines slightly at the injectors (1/4 to half turn). Hold the throttle open all the way and crank for 20 second intervals with a break in between. As fuel starts coming out of each line tighten them. Air can be a huge bitch and pain to get rid of.

    Thoughts on this idi

Looks pretty solid - with that said, one thing I am curious about is the numbers on the right side of the windshield. Was he racing it? Was it a support truck? Did it see a lot of of high speed off road use? Ask about cavitation and the trans. Remember mileage will suffer with the C 6 no...

    Racor FG500 S/S filter

Although it says better to suck through it, I am curious if we have enough pressure on the system for that to even matter much.

    Racor FG500 S/S filter

Mine is where my factory water separator was, but I am also using a mechanical pump. Definitely a good score!
