ZF5 ID. Diesel Vs Gasser

So is there a difinative way to tell a gasser ZF5 from a diesel ZF5? I know the bell housing pattern is different, but since I am not a ford guy, I am behind the curve. is there any way to tell them apart at a glance? I found one but I havent figured out if its a diesel or gasser trans yet.

Should be able to tell by the serial or model number and a search online. i did this for a friend who was buying a ZF for his F-250 (351W). thats the only difinitive way i know.

Gearing is the easiest for me.

5.72 1st gear is gasser and 4.14 and 5.08 is diesel
