I basicly wanted to see how the trans shifter was positioned in the cab , being it is a straight shifter not like my t19 and the 87+ trucks had a different position for the t case lever, how did you get by this? Did you make a differnt bracket to run the 86 t case and keep lever in stock location? maybe a pic of that too;Sweet

Even though the shifter isnt bent like the T-19, mine has no interference with the straight shifter....even with a huge 7.3L piston as a shifter knob! It did however sit back a couple inches but the original transmission hump still fit after being "persuaded" with a BFH.

But this was done on a 2x4....but it should be the same up till the tailshaft of the tranny.

I put a ZF in one of my 85 Std cab pickups, used the stock 1345 t case, used the original t case shifter. I also used the original shift boot from the T19, only rotated it 180 degrees, drilled new holes in the floor pan, and cut the boot down a little to fit over the square part of the shifter. Also put different bolts into the shifter that had a smaller head, so the boot would fit better.

I'd take pics but the whole package is out of the truck right now. I would compare the shifter location to be the same as the 87 up trucks.

Hope it helps.

I think he's talking about the trans shifter. It does look like one from a T 19 being bent. Also looks like the T 19 shift boot as well no?
