ZF-5 Hard Shifting

I have a 1993 F250 with the factory turbo and a ZF-5 in it. The truck has 317k and the trains supposedly has about 16k on a rebuild. The reason I say supposedly is that occasionally I have trouble getting it to go into gear. I have to really push on the shifter, and it starts to creep while I'm doing that, even with it not it gear. I eventually get it to move enough to drop into gear, but it is still really tough. It doesn't do it all the time. I also have a bit of a chatter at idle, that goes away when I press the clutch in. Someone told me throw out bearing, but I'm not sure about that, and if they're even related.

Need to check the clutch. The pedal bushings are probably shot also.
That's not the trans itself.

Yeah I'm thinking Clutch hydraulics or Pedal bushings. Sounds like somethings worn. I don't think its the transmission.

LMAO! Mine does the same thing; except move when not in gear, and on the flat... I know for a fact that my peddle bushings are shot, as well as the actual arm attached for the master cylinder. Considering how bad those two issues are, my clutch works 'okay'. I know I need to fix it, and will, but that's an Autumn project, not this hot damn Summer...

Aside from that, my tranny has gear roll over noise, It took me a while, and a cresent wrench to get a buggered bolt out of the transmission inspection plate, but I do have a single mass flywheel, so I'm fairly sure the noise I'm hearing is gear rollover.

I did read a transmission rebuild site, that more, or less stated as long as your zf5 is functioning well, minus the noise, to leave it alone.

inspect pedal bushings first.
these are a common problem!

next i would check the firewall, they tend to crack and give your MC some play.

if that dont fix it, move to bleeding the clutch slave.
