Would this be a suitable filter?

I am considering deleting the fuel bowl in my 99 and already have a filter head for the following filter. Would it be suitable for a post-pump filter for the 7.3? It is the same micron rating, as the stock filter.

The Racor filter for the 99 7.3 says it's a 7 micron..

What I'm looking for, is a filter that will fit the base I already have. The threads are 1-12 and the gasket dimensions are listed in the original post...

I'm making a mount for it and want to mount it just after the pump and on the frame..

Oops... Maybe I have a different one then.. The one I have is for putting on a transfer tank, like on a farmer's fuel tank. I can get filters ridiculously cheap, since they are the same fuel filters, we use in our locomotives at work. That's the biggest reason I wanted to try using this filter head. The filters we use at work, are the Baldwin BF971..

Why not put it pre-pump and leave the stock in place? That is what I did and the stock lasts 3-4X as long.

Nick said it was a bad idea to put it pre pump...

with a stock pump I advise not to put a filter before it, they dont have the power to suck through them.
