Wow, that was quick and smooth.

Swapping a late 92 early 93 RC F250 4x E4OD for a 91 SC F150 SB 4x 5.8 E4OD straight across.

Checked out the truck runs nice, can't drive it as trans is dead but revs smooth starts fantastic has two full fuel tanks and two new Group 31 batteries too.

Also got my Super CAB for my truck up off it's frame so that cab swap can begin soon too!

Sounds/looks like I'm going to be really busy for about a month again...getting the truck done.

Cab swap, engine swap and paint job and maybe turbo install *** *****...

So here is what I"ve got up in the air LOL This cab is going on my white rhino's frame...

Should be relatively simple to make the swap. I'm hoping that with just the outboard frame body mounts that are where the cab sits at the front section, I can remove them from this frame and use those on the rear of the cab. That will work quite well.

Anyway enough for now...

That was quick. Your old engine is barely cold, and here you have another lined up to drop in. And a body swap too!!

Glad to see that you're keeping yourself busy, out of trouble, and off the street corners.;SweetLOL

Keep us posted on how all this is going. As though I need to say it.

Though If I didn't have a kid on the way, a possible move to another house and a wedding to go to all of which is over the next month and a bit, I would be finding time to take my black beast for a road trip out there to give you a hand! You are elbow deep in the best part about working on trucks like these, the "It broke so its an excuse to replace with better" part!

Watching this like a hawk man!

OCD ADHD OCD ADHD OCD ADHD ....and any other letters you can throw my way....*****

I do not sit still for a minute...maybe part of why had a stroke I dunno....

Oh look something shiny!

Now seriously guys, I just don't like having no wheels and I really cannot be in that position long. If I get a SAR callout *** would I do? run there? I"m going to have to get driven down to the SAR hall get truck keys go to storage get SAR truck all while talking on phone organizing and running the call out ya, no!

Yer right Ken that engine isn't but just cooled off and settled down for burial and I've got a replacement coming! Would you have it any other way if you could have it this way? I think not!

Off the street corners, that's funny...well I don't know not many good corners to work around here LOL

Ya if you look close there are still top halves of bins in the back ground and full size ones too. I pinched two crappy broken ones for short term duration.

Got a phone call...Why don't you put that cab on your trailer and bring it down here and I'll spray it for you....UM OK I won't say no! Just let me get my mods done first cough...um DP clearancing of fire wall...and head clearancing for LH head...yuppers

Then full on paint of cab fenders hood and so forth!

Oh I'll PRE FIT the cab to the reg cab frame BEFORE paint too get all that work done! I'll leave dead short block in for guid as to where *****'s gotta be cut/bent/welded/hammered!

Oh hydro boost...

AC was cold in donor truck, must find way to remove entire sealed system and install in new SC...

Yuppers if anyone would like to come by help out, I'm golden...CBC radio 2 is always playing and never changes so u better be willing to listen to Opera, Jazz, Classical, contemporary, and what ever else is on there! I don't change radio stations! LOL

Good luck with the MOVE the BABY the whole part of being alive and living, I'm so happy to hear of growth of family that's wonderful and congratulations!

I'll take a day or two and get an idea of what I want and don't want from the other truck...I do like the boxed frame on the front so maybe I'll keep that frame????

Box is already spoken for, lights from my truck spoken for...ya I'm already thinking rear diff is spoken for...

Superwifey says how much can you sell of this...Um I don't know was my answer and little did she know I"ve already got most of it gone!!!!

Anyway I'll do a BUILD thread in a bit, and some tech 101 too. Like for Hydro boost, SC on RC frame...***** like that..

Take care ya'll thanks positive comments and for looking, cannot wait..tomorrow I go pick it up!

Since it's a little breezy where you live, just sit outside by some trees and listen to the wind blow through the leaves.

Well what a day...OMG...get up guy comes pick up the F150 brings me his papers...yup won't due I don't need a U built trailer thanks anyway...oh *****, I'll go get the right ones..

K that happens and in mean time I'm helping fix trailer lights for Dan across the street so we can use his trailer. All good.

K Brian Dan's son in law uses his F350 CC 5.8 to tow the trailer and such...bout 8 mile trip roughly.

Get there and can only back on trailer...hmm trailer hitch hits trailer...OK good thinking Al bring two big 4x4's of wood to back onto then on to the trailer!

Good gitter tied down all golden and such great stuff...not a problem so far right? KNOCK on wood

Now get home and the other neighbor Brian comes whipping around the corner with the John Deere to pull the truck off the trailer, NO worries I say we are parked on a slope...ever so slight.

unstrap and unload and I'm golden rolls off all good.

K stop take video talk bout truck and such then go in help Rose do some canning...

Peel apples she says, heres a knife she says...damn handle bout size of pencil and I can't hold it my huge hand..LOL ***** nag complain...oh stop she says..NOPE I wanna help you. OK stop ******** I"m not I'm just saying that the knife is too small.

Well when your done your picking more apples....what? U said one bag...ya to start she says...Damn I wanted a nap.

K I think I'll fix you...Hmmmm ha ha ha..go out to shop grab my six wheeler and go toodling through orchard....Brian tells me hey, my place has Red Delicious and Fujis go pick some..OK

bomb over there pick em and then on way back he stops me points to neighbors orchard...those are macs...get some ..so I do...whats a bag right? I look for blems and such that wouldn't be good for retail for pie filling and apple sauces...LOL

Now I'm loaded with like 25 lbs of apples just to show her...and as I drive up she's on Cell phone...waving me down to stop in a panic...it's PEP it's PEP on the phone....OH *****...SAR callout ...

So I take the call tell them give me five will call u back..park machine...and spent from 3 pm to 9:30 PM dealing with a missing 71 yo male horse back rider/hunter in some very very steep terrain and ravines.

I get a Helo ride for near an hour searching and getting over view of area and then come down. I really wanted a 20 minute flight/overview...but RCMP piliot wanted to search cause daylight and fuel where available.

Once down back to command and make decision hand over call to another manager I'm going up the hill to track...there where only 4 other members of my team none of which could / should be up there so we call in some mutual aid and get them on another helo and I'll go up with a guide 3 other team members from mutual aid team...when OH Look subject shows up...Whew..I didn't want to be hiking at 6-8000 feet in the dark where the ravines are 100's of feet drops.

K so that was my day...That's twice now out on my six wheeler and get a SAR callout...

Been very busy year for us for SAR this year...NICE!!!!!

Oh ya back to truck...cause of callout no time for decent pics etc...

Here ya are...

Wow.. I hate canning more than I hate gardening for the wifey.. After the injection pump replacement she wanted me to harvest tomatoes she couldn't reach.. I have longer arms so I can reach farther.. She was told the garden was too wide and no way was she going to be able to reach in 4 ft to harvest anything. The raised beds are 16 inches tall and 8 ft by 16 ft long. I hate working for her or building her what she wants telling her all along it wont work. She should wear a sign so others will know not to ask her questions... So you had a fuul day of it but got a ride in a helio.. thats nice plus you got rid of one but got another rig.. Nice day if you ask me.. Now get back to peeling bud. Just don't throw away the apple peels. Those are tastey...

Interesting day of lets look over trucks lets play devils advocate, and so on. I'm still on fence but I'm considering something.

I was originally told that the TTB 50 front end was shot, I've looked quick and needs a bit of u joint but no big deal. I didn't check ball joints yet but the brakes look great!

Checked rear brakes, not bad but ya so I'll be thinking...

Bottom line box has to go cause I think it's sold..

Thus remove cab, clip swap out dead auto for a manual and drop a super cab onto the crippled hippo frame...

Thus I get the newer front frame with more durable and stronger boxing yet still prior to accordian frame LOL That makes a shackle reversal kit much easier.

I can then rebuild my front 60 and when ready swap it in quite nicely too.

Rear does not have the heavy top helpers/overloads nice for flexing later...and only 2" blocks so when swap 60 in front I install locker in rear and swap to a rear shackle flip or install taller blocks.

Thus I get my supercab, std, with deck and I can take needed time to build the diffs etc.

Also got offered this big ass DEKKA 8D AGM battery today if I want it. Hmm...

Not sure what to do? Two Group 31's frame mounted, or an AGM 8D frame mounted? Suggestions thoughts discussion welcomed!!

Or two G31's and an 8D all frame mounted????

Anyway I'm just well...thinking through what is going to provide me the best end result for my time and $$$ prior to doing much more than cursory look.

Thanks for reading

I remember the 8D from my early school bus days, we ran two per bus, then one day some clown decided they would save a ton of money by switching to two smaller batteries, not only to save a ton of money but to also eliminate the weight that was ruining the sliding battery trays. Guess what happened on very cold days after a weekend? Not enough amps to turn the damn motors over. Talk about late for a route, we must have had a line of 40 buses or more, waiting for a jump start.

I wish I had somewhere easy to mount one in my truck, I'd have one in a minute!

Ya 8D's are nice, I think that a single one should spin my truck just fine LOL

Now I"m going today to pick up a jug of ATF and top up the trans, it's not even showing on the dipstick so maybe that's why no forward gears?

I'm hoping that this will be simple and I can fill it and test drive it!.

Then it's on to what to do, use the F250 frame and build up or just flip to the F350.

Anyway thanks for looking
