I keep hearing chirps when turning wheels sharp or hitting turn stops. Been adding stop leak, think its time for power steering pump too, its original. So, looking at pulley puller kits. Any suggestions? Harbor Freight, Lisle, OTC, PowerBuilt?
Ouch, well the closest HF is about an hour drive, my luck the adapter needed will be the one HF didn't add to it, LolThat looks very close to the $20 HFT one, which only has one less piece.
Pulley Remover and Installer Set, 12 Piece
Amazing deals on this Pulley Remover & Installer Set at Harbor Freight. Quality tools & low prices.www.harborfreight.com
Sorry was out of town when you asked. But OTC has a good PS puller/pusher. But if Napa has a lifetime warranty I would go with that since it is easy to strip these out.
Drove to AutoZone in the next city and picked up the vacuum pump pulley. It cost $47.99, that's almost as much for the vacuum pump!
Then went to O'Reilly and bought the power steering pump w/resovoir for $53.99. I'll check RockAuto for pressure hoses and return, maybe less expensive.
Here is puller at Summit. I paid $32 on Amazon for a larger kit. Yes, correct tool for the job. I hope AutoZone learned something.
I made them pay for the pulley. They learned a pulley gets sold if they bend one.
That Summit kit looks identical to Lisle/Napa 39000 except for the case color. (Edit: oh it even says it's Lisle)
