where to get an alternator alternator?

Where is the best place to get a alternator for my 86? Advanced wants $91 but it is nothing special. Is there a better one to be had?:dunno

Go to Ford for the good stuff. Or go to checker for the life time cheap stuff. It won't last as long but the warranty helps a lot when you need to replace it. P.S. Checker is also called Advanced Auto, Shucks, Kragen, and Star depending on where you are.

I have a few used ones.
but the way to go is the internal reg `130
for more power, and less hassel.

Woops I thought I was still on STD and so posted a yahoo search link.

The 3G produces more peak power, and starts producing power at a lower RPM. They are also more plentiful than the original alternators on the earlier trucks.
