Motor oil and plenty of it too
In summer I run 50/50 used motor oil and diesel
In winter the truck is not used much but I only just use the front tank
I only change fuel filter when the light comes on, last change was about 5 or 6 years ago
I only use truck for scrap hauling or car hailing on my 20 foot H&H tilt
I think it runs a little quieter on the oil mix than the pure diesel
The injector pump should like it also and should make it last longer
Punch it on the oil and little more black smoke than normal, But no blue smoke.
Power seems the same

I change the Rotella 15 40 out of it and it goes right into the rear tank
All my oils changes are done at home so it gets all the 10 30 from my 300 and the 5 20 from wifeys jeep
I don't use synthetic in anything, so I don't know about using it.
I pump it into the truck with my 12v pony pump and it has a screen on the end of the pickup hose
Fill rear to half on the gauge then top with diesel

I burnt some hydraulic I got from a farmer friend it worked ok but left what looked like a rubber ball in my fuel filter, (don't use that again)

PS I hit it with the cosby all the time unless its a nice warm day.

An idi will eat almost anything for fuel, but waste(w) motor (m) oil (o) is full of iron, steel, babbit, carbon and more.
So the i.p. And sticks (injectors) get worn faster.

I mixed WMO and ATF into one blend, then ran that with 50% straight diesel. Startup and shutdown was on straight diesel, while cruising at temperature was with the 50% blend. I even pushed up to what I figure was 60% oil. I honestly felt the power was slightly higher and other than sputtery cold-starts, it ran just fine. The oil was from a known source (my own truck) and I sent it through a 10 micron filter before using it (not really enough filtering). In all honesty, it's not a good idea and I only did it because I knew I'd be in for a new injection system eventually.

Once I got my injector pump "moosified", I only run straight diesel. I also ran stanadyne lubricity for all of the warranty period and a few years after. I'm a little complacent about additive these days though...

Wow sounds like you need a new motor that used oil came from. Its screwed stick a fork in it, can you see the silver flake in it? Maybe you should have changed the oil more often

I bought the 1990 250 truck in 2005 with the 7.3 international motor
I bought it because it DID NOT have a ford engine in it.
I would NOT buy a truck with a ford gas engine in it ever
I have been burning WMO since 2009 truck has 400k on it
Start and end on front tank with pure diesel
I change my auto oils at 4k except the truck
the oil sits in my jugs for several months before I use it in tank 2
I don't use tank 2 in winter because its too thick, and I don't use the truck in winter very much either.
I never pump the very bottom of the jug in
The last good truck ford made was 1999
Shes called Black beauty lmao

The waste oil needs to be filtered before dumped into the fuel tank.
