Filtering is the key to running any alternative fuel.
I found that out the hard way in 2011. Ever since I began filtering my WVO to 2 microns I haven’t had any problems other than the squirrels chewed through my fuel line at work and that’s probably because they found a small yummy leak before I could detect it lol.

In the late 70's early 80's everyone ran the used oil through the semi engines. I ran for a company in early 80's. They had 75 company trucks, every oil change was filtered. Then dumped into the 25,000 gallon fuel tank.
They used cotton towels back then. Double towels over a 30 gallon barrel. Then into the big tank. Saved one engine. New guy was about out of fuel. He put in 75 gallons in Nashville. By the time he got in. He told the shop, his truck ran like crap. He had dumped 75 gallons of gas in the tank. They drained it, and truck was ok. As there was lots of oil still in the tanks.
