G-31 napa batteries are 1150 cca, at a 130 each its much worth it to me
what kind of batteries?

I got mine from Advance Auto...they were pricey also but I've been relatively pleased with them.
I bought a Wal-Mart battery once...ONCE for my wife's car. Never again!!! Dang thing was useless in a week and when I took it back the kid said it was checking out "good battery"
So I complained and the manager (another kid) says if you take it up the street to Advance and they say it's bad I'll give you another one?!!??!! ***?! So I go up the street and sure enough Advance puts it on their machine...yup POS battery. Needless to say I went back to Walmart with a Advance battery and got my money back for their POS!! Most bizarre transaction ever! Anyway I say all that to reiterate what everyone else is saying "Stay away from Walmart batteries!!

I did buy a pair of wal mart batteries once, the first one let go after 2 years, and the 2nd one let go the next year

I have Napa batteries. 770cca's each. Never had a problem...and truck started at 7 degree's with a dying starter

I have 2 Duralast Gold batteries that have been worth their weight in gold....I have unintentionally abused these batteries and they keep putting out!!!

I just picked up two interstate 850cca blemish batteries with warranty for 30 each, but i live about 1 mile from the joint.Don't really know how they will work on the diesel but never had any problems in any of my gassers, been going there for years

I've been beating the crap out of Duralast gold tops for years. I still have two of the old series when they were all black in my one of my trucks up in Ohio. My 87 has a set of 34-dt-dgn batteries that have been through hell and back twice at least. The one in the 87 has been through 6 different trucks before it made it's home in my 87. Ben there ever since. I can go out and hit the key right now and she'll fire up even though she has been sitting for over three months.

Both my trucks have Sears Diehards in them. I drive the corridor between Northern Colorado and the Canadian border in Idaho and down to Phoenix - these are my longest winter hauls. There are Sears & Roebucks all up and down the road.
It's nice to pull into their warm bays with automagic doors and have some pimply faced kids swap your batteries for $5.00 more than the cost of the batteries at Costco - and frankly they look identical if you look at the cases.
I've been tempted to purchase Costco batteries as well. They seem to have a decent warranty. And frankly look the same as the Diehards. Maybe internally they're different but the CCA's are the same 875...

thanks for all the posts guys, i just need to save some money now id like to run some interstates like my stepdads PSD but i cant afford those, so probably some AC delcos from the local store for 75/ea

Go with group 31's if you can afford it, they are a superior battery, for sure they will fit 83-91, not sure about 92+. I ran my 6.9 on a single G31 without issue, unless I forgot to plug it in at -30, but, even a pair of them wouldn't help all that much at those temps. They tend to be comparable pricewise to standard autmotive batteries, a buddy of mine(logging contractor) gets 'em for $75 CDN a piece, and the last one(exide) I bought was about $115 CDN at my local parts store which is a little high on price.

What bad luck i have. Just went to start my car today, after sitting for 5 days. And i have one dead battery. Just went to NAPA and got me a DEKA. at least i know i'll be good for the next couple of years

With 2 g-31 batteries the would spin my 6.9 over just as fast when it was -15 as when its 70+ out side, i highly belive there the best battery that anyone can possibly get

HA HA HA Yeah. When i drive over 200 miles a day for my commute to work and back, I need to get something good on fuel. The probe is my new commuter and the black f150 is the old commuter
