Current owner has driven it like a rental. It may be hard to start cold, so before pulling any money out, go to where it is and park across the street, or where you can see it from a distance. Then call him to see it again. Watch and see if he fires it up with ether.

Perhaps it starts up just fine all the time but has too many little projects for him to take care of.

We will be up that way later this month. Hopefully I will be giving Rich some money for that Saleen and then flying up in the next month or so to pick the car up. Maybe I should fly up there and just buy my old green truck back and tow the Saleen back to Texas with it.

Why not just pick up, a pick-up while you're here...

The last one.... an '87 with AC, a seat in the back big enough for the kiddos, looks like a full bed, only 87K miles, for $1700 ;Sweet

Yes, but it has the wrong front bumper right? aren't the diesels supposed to have the cut-outs on the front bumper?

the more air caps you have up front the more wind drag and less fuel economy you get.
these bumpers didn't come out til '94 i think.
if you get one with those cutouts (like on your truck) ,the best thing you could do,would be to fill them with a plate and or lights to keep the air out or install an intercooler to actually make them function for efficiency.;Sweet
some hardcore ecco modders will actually go as far as reducing their grill openings to reduce wind drag.;)

Ha, I lived in Round Rock for a little while. Not a bad town and not too close to the city.

That truck doesn't sound too unreasonable. I wouldn't offer full price but if you can verify it doesn't have Autolites in it and the blow-by is OK, then it could work out for ya. The tires are a killer, though. My truck had brand new tires on it and for me that was a big selling point because they are expensive.

With these trucks you can expect to have to rebuild the injection system, full fluid service, rebuild A/C, fix at least one window motor, fix or deal with a cracked windshield and leaking rocker covers; tranny pan; and or differential.

Good luck in your search. I was picky and it took me like 6 months to find what I wanted for a reasonable price. Despite the truck being in better condition than the 10 or so I looked at, I have still spent a lot of $ on it.

Yeah I am going to keep looking for the right one. I really want a 4 wheel drive crew cab however a 4 wheel drive ext cab will work.

Round rock is cool (actually its HOT) we really like it. When we purchase our next house I think we will be looking in Georgetown/Taylor/Cedar park/Leander areas.

I want to get a little farther out of town.
