water in fuel light

My water in fuel light on the dash is on someone sugested change the fuel filter I did and the light is still on I unpluged the wire from the filter and it still stayed on any more ideas what to look for.

pull that dash piece off and trace down the wire its probably grounded out somewhere

You really need one cause water will ruin injectors and the ip, ask me how i know

If you have a 6.9 then put a 7.3 filter head on it and buy a napa filter with the intragated water drain,

If you have a 7.3 just buy the filter with the water drain built it

Ok so what im hearing you are talking about the fuel filter which I have and have changed , but is there something else because the problem I have is there is a water in fuel light and there is also a water in filter light on the dash why two warning lights if there isnt two water catches hope this makes sence ,
