Wastegate actuator clicking

My e99's wastegate actuator started clicking the other day and never stops. I have no idea why it's doing that, but unplugged it. The wastegate is not hooked up anyway. I do get a code for the actuator circuit failure, but no CEL.

Can I just leave it unplugged?
