That setup IS cool...and it's also "factory". I'm not 100% certain, but that looks like a Centurion conversion...although IIRC a few companies did stuff like this in the '80's. Almost certainly, it left the Ford dealership like that, even if it didn't leave the Ford factory that way. It's not common, but not unheard of either. If I were to build a dream hot-shot rig, I would start with one of those platforms...That reminds me, saw this at the store a couple weeks ago, forgot all about it.

Considering that that thing probably has no business being on the road in the first place, I'm not so sure that that's a bad ideaHe couldnt drive that in California on a class C lisence...funny thing about that third axle and three tons
